My Real Mechanical site

This is my final mechanical site representing Paul Strand. I like the frigidness of the components of the 'machine' and in a strange way it relates to my previous works for project 1 and 2. Each of the elongated squares reminds of steamers and steam engine parts, which I really like about it.

This is almost the final of my mechanical site. At this point in time i am considering weather to keep the pipe or not. I like it better without the pipe because i think it looks a lot more clean mechanic although machines are quite dirty considering the conditions that were caused by the industrial revolution in the late 1700's. But i do like the clear mechanical nature of this drawing without the pipe.

Under construction! i can definetly see a resemblance in my drawing below and this image that i found on th internet. A very old drawingof a skyscraper just like this conects al my ideas baround this project and it is a back and forth play of 'Manhatta' and my iconic potrait. This image looks like part of some advertising project back in the early 1900's.

This render is a close up of my mechanical site. I really like it because this close up shows the intersections and the complexity of the object that is comparable to the complexity of real mechanical objects or called machines. It looks almost over-whelming and in astrange way it reminds of architecture due to its tallness. When i look at this image it reminds me of the old school images from sky scrapers in manhattan city when it was under construction.

This is a sideview my the further transition of the site. The pipe was replaced by a circle and alot more steamers, horizontal and vertical are visible. I am starting to like this model the more complex and machine like it becomes.

This image shows a further transition of this model. I started using horizontal steamers as well as vertical steamers as i thought the previous version lokked quite rigid. I will follow this idea further.

This image shows another front view but this time with the pipe. this is an a lot more literal version..

This is a top view while constructing my site. I shows that i have left space in between the 'steam pumps' due to their imagenary movement, which is the movement they would do in real life. The largest circle represents Paul strands eyes as when i think of a mask the eyes would be definetly one of the only parts visible as well as in my case the pipe that is sticking out of Strands mouth.

This is the first step to completion of my mechanical site. It is inspired by the idea of steam engines and mechanical parts from my most recent research. The circles represent turning wheels and the elongated rectangles represent the steam pumps. I decided to follow the idea of older mechanical machines. This is because Paul Strands career was successful in the beginning of the 20th century so i thought it would be appropriate to stay away from new age technologies that weren't accessible back in those days.
